Scholarship to Study Hindi in India at Kendriya Hindi Sansthan (Central Institute of Hindi) Agra, India during the academic year 2024-25

Kendriya Hindi Sansthan, i.e. Central Institute of Hindi, Agra (India) invites applications from foreign nationals for learning Hindi language in India on scholarship ('Propagation of Hindi in Abroad' Scheme) at the Institute Headquarter, Agra, India during the academic session 2024-2025. The scheme is administered by the Ministry of Education, Government of India.

ELIGIBILITY

• Age – Between the age of 21-35 Years

• Qualification – Completed schooling, basic knowledge of Hindi or English language, basic skills in computer operation and having working E-mail ID

• Last date of application to be submitted to Central Institute of Hindi – 20th March 2024

• Duration of course – 1 August 2024 – 30 April 2025

Filled-up application form along with character certificate, medical certificate and one recommendation from an expert of Linguistics/Hindi or a lecturer/reader/professor/director of any institute/university in your country should be submitted through the High Commission of India, Kingston via email to hcoffice.kingston@mea.gov.in

FACILITIES

Accommodation:

The Central Institute of Hindi (Kendriya Hindi Sansthan), Agra provides separate hostel facilities for male and female students. 

Please note: 

(a) The students living in the hostels have to strictly follow the hostel rules and regulations. Hostel's rules will be given to the students at the time of admission. Any violation of rules can result into the termination of the concerned student's admission besides other necessary actions and he/she can be asked to return on his/her own expenses. 

(b) The Institute also organizes cultural activities from time to time, the students who are willing to participate in these activities can carry their national dresses with themselves.

Mess:

There is mess facility in the hostels. It is compulsory for the students living in the hostel to join the mess. Private cooking in residential rooms is strictly prohibited. The mess is purely vegetarian and normally the Indian food is served. Monthly expenses for breakfast, lunch & dinner is between 3500/- to 4000/- approximately.

FINANCIAL SUPPORT

The student admitted under the Promotion of Hindi Abroad Scheme (PHA) Scheme) is given Economy Class Air fare (to and fro) from their respective countries by the shortest route. Selected student is given a scholarship of INR 9000/- (INR Nine Thousand Only) per month. This scholarship is given to the student from 1st of August or from the month of his/her arrival up to the end of the academic session, that is, 30th of April. The student is also given books grant of INR 1000/- (INR One Thousand only) per annum.

(1) the Institute will bring students by car from Delhi Airport to the Central Institute of Hindi, Agra and vice-versa if informed timely by respective Embassies.

(2) The Institute will reimburse (if any) to the student the amount spent by him on travel by rail/road in reaching the Central Hindi Institute, Agra from the New Delhi international Airport.

FEE

Student must pay only the following mandatory nominal charges/refundable security deposits for the facilities provided by the Institute:

1. The students must pay INR 700/- (Rs. Seven Hundred Only) at the time of submission of examination form (INR 200/- enrollment fee and INR 500/- as examination fee)

2. Hostel Maintenance Fee - Deposit INR 300/- (INR Three Hundred Only) per month.

3. One-time Refundable Library Security Deposit INR 1000/- (INR One Thousand Rupees Only), which is refunded at the end of the academic session on the return of the borrowed books.

MEDICAL FACILITIES

Hospital facilities are provided as per institute rules. In house male and female doctors are available daily for student exclusively without any consultation fee.
