IMPORTANT
As part of the worldwide Implementation of Passport Seva Project, the Global Passport Seva Program has been rolled out in Jamaica. Members of the Indian Community in Jamaica, Cayman Islands, Bahamas, Turks and Caicos Islands, BVI are advised to use the new portal https://embassy.passportindia.gov.in for availing Passport Services with effect from 01 September 2020.

- Create USER ID
- Login using the USER ID and fill the application form
- Submit the form online (Select Mission Jamaica)
- Take a print out of the application
- Affix photo at the designated place
- Signature to be done in the presence of Submission Officer at the High Commission of India.
- Submit the print out of the application along with required documents and prescribed fee at the High Commission of India, Kingston, Jamaica

5. CHANGE OF NAME (SURNAME/MIDDLE NAME) FOLLOWING A MARRIAGE OF INDIAN WOMEN IN THEIR PASSPORTS
KINDLY NOTE THAT CHANGE OF NAME AFTER MARRIAGE AS PER THE ABOVE- MENTIONED PROCEDURE IS ALLOWED TO A FEMALE INDIAN APLICANT ONLY. TO CHANGE THEIR NAMES, INDIAN MALE APPLICANTS IN ALL CASES AND INDIAN FEMALE APPLICANTS IN CASES OTHER THAN MARRIAGE ARE REQUIRED TO FOLLOW THE NORMAL PROCEDURE AS MENTIONED BELOW.
6. CHANGE OF NAME IN THE PASSPORT (NORMAL PROCEDURE) THE APPLICANT (both male and female) should submit:

- Original newspaper advertisement announcing change of name, published in two leading daily newspapers. One newspaper should be of area of applicants permanent address in India and the other of the area of his present address in abroad. Waiting time of 30 days is mandatory after the last publication.

If the appearance of an applicant has changed significantly since the issue of his/her last passport, an Indian national can apply for a fresh passport with a recent photograph. The following documents are required to be submitted:
At least two public/school documents issued in the desired/applied change name (new name) to ascertain that the applicant has actually changed his/her name
7. Renunciation/Surrender of Indian Passports
1. Under Indian law, Persons of Indian Origin, who have acquired foreign citizenship, are required to surrender their Indian passports to the nearest Indian Mission/Post immediately after acquisition of foreign citizenship. The Government of India has fixed fee for renouncing the Indian Citizenship/surrender of Indian passport at Rs.8, 000/- effective 1st May 2024.
2.The Indian Citizenship Act, 1955, does not provide for dual citizenship. Holding Indian passport/acquiring Indian passport/travelling on Indian passport after acquisition of foreign citizenship constitutes an offence under the Indian Passport Act, 1967, and attracts penalties. The Government of India has prescribed imposition of penalty on a graded scale, depending on number of trips made on Indian passport after acquiring foreign nationality, for the violation of Passport Rules ranging from a minimum of Rs. 10,000/- to a maximum of Rs. 50,000/-.
3.In view of these provisions, Persons of Indian Origin, intending to apply for OCI Cards, should surrender their Indian passports and then apply for these services. In case they do not have the Indian passports in their possession for any reason (loss/misplacement/submission to Home Office long time back, etc.), they are required to furnish duly notarized affidavit in this regard. If the Indian passport is still valid but has been misplaced/lost, then Police report should be submitted additionally (to rule out any misuse).
4.Persons of Indian Origin applying for Indian visa for the first time after acquiring foreign nationality are required to first renounce/surrender their Indian passports.

Original and copy of legal Residence in Jamaica, Bahamas, Turks and Caicos, Cayman Islands and BVI.
Copy of Proof of address (Utility bill, driver license) or lease agreement with a copy of landlord’s Id.
Original Letter of Employer in English, signed by the authorized signing authority of the company addressed to the Consular Officer, High Commission of India, Kingston, stating date of appointment and position in the Company. In case of private business, copy of Company’s registration with TRN.
